a bit of blue

My first thought was "I should have worn gloves".

Then I looked again and wondered when it happened that my hands became aged?

I sent the photo to my hubby who is traveling with the same age lament.

He had some real wise words for me ... as you can imagine if you know him.

So I took over the last remaining square inches of space that are his and filled it up.

I'm just borrowing spaces for a few days. Serious.

This dipping business ain't for the faint of heart I tell ya.

I'm going to be scrubbing hands until Christmas!!

crafting stools

I've been trying to dip some stools and chairs.
These aren't sprayed with poly yet and will be nice and shiny when they're done.
In the meantime .... we have a bit of copper gracing their legs.

Don't you just love my field of weeds moss?
The little boys' feet love it ... so I'm just going with it.
At some point I'll acknowledge that they are weeds and get rid of them ..
in the meantime .. oh well!

welcome little aiden

Anna &Wylon welcomed another precious son to their family on Friday.
Aiden Wylon joined us in this world we live in.

He is a paci pro already ... wonder if he has an inkling that he is going to be protecting that thing ...

beautiful toes, fingers and nose ..

you were loved, little one, before you took a breath ...

... even Papa, who "doesn't do babies" was persuaded to give you a snuggle ...

Serious snuggle time!
Bundles of blessings.

trying to read

You know I don't read, right?
I listen to audio books.
I fall asleep if I read.
I started trying to get through this book with the hopes of taking a certification exam in the fall.

And then I fell asleep.

But not before I found this little ditty.

Not that I needed it, but take what you can get ... right?

Sir Liam

Where did you go Nana?

Little man didn't start crawling until he got back home following his vacation.
Smart little man.
Dad wanted to share the experience with him.

Love and miss these special girls!

I sort of said I wouldn't post this picture anywhere. Like, who wants their picture taken following only several hours of sleep?! But ... one of them beat me to it so I think I'm okay.

It really is time for a trip to North Dakota.

oh so sweet ...

The last weekend of July, Jari and I headed up to Flagstaff for the weekend.
It has been at least a quarter of a century since we stayed at Little America.
Did I really just say quarter of a century?!

Talk about elegance.
We spent one night there and the other with our dear niece Keilah and family
who were so gracious to add a few more bodies to their busy household for the night.

A while ago I posted about a piece of music that I needed to learn.
Tia was the epitome of patience and I learned.
Unfortunately, it does sound a whole lot different on an actual piano but it happened!

The adorable wedding was held outdoors as the rain clouds circled.

The wedding reception was held at the home of another sister of the bride.
Pure. Adorable.

My youngest cherub ...

The entire day was beautiful and blessed.
The most wonderful surprise of the day was the arrival of Bridget ...
with our youngest grandcharmer!

Beautiful wedding of two young people followed by snuggles of the sweetest ever kind.

s is for

Jari and I received gifts of good size Yeti's several weeks ago.

It passed the test.
Hotter than blazes cup on the outside following hours of sitting in a hot vehicle ....

cool and refreshing (with frozen ice!) on the inside.
Then again ... if there was ice still in the cup ...
I know.
It was frozen.

Makes this summer weather a wee bit more tolerable.

when it rains in the valley

It ain't just the little people watching in awe ...

The umbrellas are in the car ... necessitating some creativity ..

that didn't really do a lick of good ...
