You are never too old to set another goal
or to dream a new dream.
- C.S. Lewis
Over the past weekend we joined grieving loved ones and friends
in performing the last act of love for Kevin Simonson as he was laid to rest
following a battle with cancer.
Where is the motivation to be found in this tragic event?
Kevin was young, he lived only 56 years on this earth.
There are some people who would walk through that same space of time.
They might dawdle along doing the same thing day in and day out.
That's not a bad thing either, it just wasn't Kevin.
As was so eloquently spoken over the weekend, Kevin ran his race.
He had dreams to fulfill and goals to achieve.
There were other continents to visit, there were cruises to take with his family,
there were bike rides and hunting trips waiting for him.
New goals and new dreams were around the corner that
wasn't meant to be seen or traveled.
Yet, the goal that Kevin was most striving for while he was still on this earth
is his victory.
He has reached Heaven.
We are never too old
for the hope of Heaven.
To you dear loved ones of Kevin who are struggling:
The days ahead of you may be filled with darkness,
feeling the light of life and living is outside your reach.
If for the moment you can't dream a new dream or set a new goal,
then cling to the one we all shared with Kevin.
The goal of heaven and the dreams of being one day reunited ...
with a big hug and a kiss.
Well said, Anita. Wish I could've made it there.
